The Austin AGC serves as the voice of Austin’s commercial construction industry at the local, state and national levels of government. Thanks to the support of our membership, we are able to have a positive impact on business issues that affect all local commercial contractors, whether they are members or not.
Local Issues
The Austin AGC works on behalf of all local contractors on issues before local government entities. Recent issues of importance include addressing construction noise in downtown Austin, construction parking downtown, ROW access for construction during large events, and working with City staff to streamline permitting and inspections processes.
State Issues
The Austin AGC helps fund the AGC Texas Building Branch (TBB), the statewide advocacy office for all AGC building chapters in the State of Texas. Located here in Austin, the TBB belongs to all Texas AGC serves as the collective representative of the Texas commercial construction industry in the state capitol. The TBB employs a full-time lobbyist and several contract lobbyists to work with the Texas legislature and state offices on issues of importance to our industry.
AGC-Texas Building Branch’s book “2022 Bonds and Liens on Construction Work in Texas” is now available for purchase. This is the first major update of the book since 2012. This book is designed to help you understand the rights and responsibilities of bond and lien laws in Texas for private, local, state, and federal projects.
